Dog Daycare at Paws By The Lake will give your dog some valuable social interaction in a safe, controlled environment. If your dog plays well with others and understands rules, then our Dog Daycare is the perfect place for a refreshing getaway. Rest assured, we group pets based on size and temperament so that our smaller, or older, guests are not overwhelmed by the activities of the day.
Dog Daycare...What Can My Dog Do During The Day?
A typical pet daycare day includes supervised play, running around with friends and playing with toys. When the weather's warm, they'll also enjoy dog swimming our in-ground, "bone-shaped" splash pools.
Pet Daycare...Once Is Not Enough
We've found that the best way to enhance your dog daycare experience is to schedule visits on the same day each week. That way your dog will be more comfortable interacting with familiar dogs...rather than the often stressful experience of making new friends each visit to pet daycare.
Dog Daycare...Recommended Frequency:
During the initial 8 weeks of dog daycare we encourage your pet to come on the same day(s) of the week. This promotes the building of "friendships" between dog daycare pets. Our playful pet daycare environment is stimulated by dogs becoming comfortable with their surroundings. Switching days in the introductory period leads to unfamiliar relationships and can cause anxiety. Once adapted, your pet may be permitted to change days. Two to three days a week is ideal for dog daycare. Anything additional causes "daycare fatigue" and could be counterproductive.

Medical Requirements:
- All dogs must...
- ...be 16 weeks of age or older
- ...be spayed or neutered (over the age of 8 months)
- ...be healthy and free of communicable disease
- ...have a negative intestinal worm check yearly
- ...have a negative heartworm test yearly
- ...be free of fleas and ticks and be on a preventative May-December
- ...have a properly identified quick release collar or harness
- ...be nonaggressive towards people and other pets
- Vaccines must be current (DHPP, Rabies, Bordetella)
- Dogs that are ill have a 14 day wait before re-admittance
Enrollment:
Please call Paws by the Lake Pet Resort at (440.933.5297) for inquiries. An application form will need to be completed. We will need a copy of your dog's vaccine certificate, intestinal parasite and heartworm results. It is important for the health and safety of all involved that the dogs attending daycare do not have any aggressive tendencies, excessive shyness, or are food/toy possessive.
Unfortunately, not all dogs are compatible with the daycare setting. To ensure a positive environment for those involved, some pets may not be admitted to daycare immediately; a transition period may be needed. For these pets, we offer socialization classes with our staff animal trainers.
Reservations required:
If your dog only comes once weekly, it is suggested to keep the same day of the week for scheduling purposes. This also eliminates confusion of seeing new friends each week.
For staffing purposes, we require a 24 hour notice for cancellations. Less than 24 hour notice will result in forfeit of the daycare fee.
Registered guests can participate in Doggie Daycare activities at reduced rates.
